NURSING HOME SURVEY

There are Federal and State laws governing the care of persons living in care settings.  Each state can develop, pass and implement rules that support, reflect and evaluate the quality of care in each state.   A new survey process will be coming to our nation that can improve quality of life for all nursing home residents.  Check out the 2009 Survey Process Improved and Read More about how the new survey may support person centered approaches.

In Idaho, all skilled nursing homes and assisted living facilities that accept medicare and medicaid are inspected or surveyed by Idaho Bureau of Facility Standards.  Survey results of each care provider are available on line and posted in each facility. Idaho State establishes and monitors minimum standards for skilled nursing, assisted living facilities and other care providers.  These minimum standards are found in the IDAPA rules and are available through the Idaho Legislative website.
